The Aquatic Bedposts

A couple of kids and a reel-to-reel tape recorder–that’s where it started, there in Andy’s room in the summer of 1988 (or so). We made it up. Except for Pete. He mostly stole it. That’s okay. He made it his own and fooled us all. I think Jason was there from time to time, but I can never really remember, although stuff got done. That’s where The Aquatic Bedposts were born. Gestated on Monty Python, nursed on more Monty Python, and weened on other stuff that former members of the Monty Python crew did.

Then there was this Drama Department video project called Lonesome Duck. We were all in it. It was all right. Parts of it sucked. We thought we could do better. So we tried. And failed. But on the way toward failure, we stumbled onto Horror Theater, the series that would carry us for years to come. Over a hundred movies and who knows how many participants later, The Aquatic Bedposts spirit continues to move us. We’re still making it up as we go along.
